Oburu Oginga Siaya Senator aspirant.

Opoda village on the outskirts of Bondo town, in Siaya, has nearly everyone vying for a political seat.

The geography of the village better known as Opoda farm has the aspirants' homes too close to one another.

The politicians are Turphosa Osewe (for West Sakwa MCA), Racheal Omollo (for Bondo MP), Elijah Bonyo (for Kisumu Central MP), Oburu Oginga (for Siaya Senator) and Azimio chief Raila Odinga (for president).

Four of the aspirants are family members of the late Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

Osewe is Raila's sister-in-law and Bonyo is the son of Oburu, who is the ODM leader's elder brother.

It is only the Bondo MP aspirant who is not a member of the Jaramogi family.

Her family has bought land in the area.

However, she is the daughter of politician Omollo Kowi from Uyoma in Rarieda and wife to Leonard Ogola Chan.

From Omollo's compound, Oburu's home is barely 100 metres away.

Osewe neighbours the Oburus and Oburu neighbours Raila.

All of them are running on an ODM ticket and have upscaled their campaigns with the hope of emerging victorious.

If they win, Opoda village will become the village for the all-powerful.
