Next month's Mini Safari Classic will curtain raise the East Africa Safari Classic Rally which has been postponed to February.
The prestigious East African Safari Classic was initially scheduled for 1st November 1-9, 2021 but was postponed due to the prevailing Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Organisers of the event have since considered a two-part solution to salvage the competition from the difficult Covid-19 period.
EASCR board of directors chairman, Joey Ghose, said despite the postponement, the management will still roll out a mini classic rally as a precursor to the ultimate 10th edition classic rally set for February 10– 18, 2022.
“This mini-classic is in line with our spirit of fulfilling our competitors’ desires as we prepare for the ultimate challenge, where we will grant free entry for competitors and observe full Covid-19 protocols," Ghose added.
This year’s East African Safari Mini Classic will be flagged off at the Waterfront in Karen on November 4 and end in Amboseli, Kajiado on November 6.
The rally will feature a maximum of 60 drivers among them driver Eric Bengi and navigator, Gatimu Mindo. The two are entering Classic Rally for the first time in Datsun 180B.
