South African Afrobeats and Amapiano hitmaker Alfa Van Kat is set to headline the Freedom Festival 2022 on December 11 at Nairobi's Emara Sky Lounge.
Designed as a benefit concert, the event will raise seed funding for our Public Defenders Fund.
The fund seeks to support justice-seekers, whistleblowers and human rights defenders at risk from 2023.
Kenyan artistes who will also perform include Erick Wainaina and rapper Femi One, who recently won Afrimma award for best female rapper in East Africa.
As well as DJs Amar The Arkitekt, DJ Cavi, DJ Kronikx and MGM.
The event will also feature performances by rights survivors, spoken word poets and MCs.
Space will also be given to national and community human rights defenders and duty-bearers to speak and showcase their work.
