Gospel singer Ruth Matete says her late husband John Apewajoye knew he would not survive the accident.
The mother of one said when the fire accident happened, her husband prepared her for his departure and gave her the name to give their child.
"While in the ambulance after the accident, he told me he wasn’t gonna make it. I thought it was just fear," she said.
"I kept encouraging him that he would be fine. He told me all he wanted me to do (I felt like it was those Afro-cinema movies)."
Matete added that he also gave her a message for his sister and brother.
"In those two weeks he was in the hospital, each time I went to visit him, he would ask me, “Oh! I'm still here?' It’s like he waited for death," she said.
