The pastor doesn't want a time waster or a young man and that relationship should lead to marriage after they date for possibly a year.
"I want an elderly person. I will be 37 next year. So I need someone who understands what he's come to do."
The former TPF star said this on Lupaso's YouTube channel.
"I am very single. There's single and there's very single. I am very single," she said.
"I want to be searched. The Bible says a man shall, not a woman. Please do not hunt after a man."
Matete said she will never shoot her shot.
"Ladies, do not shoot your shot. Just don't. You would rather go on your knees and say, Lord, open the eyes of that man, let him come to me."
She also asked men not to take long before approaching a woman.
"I had told myself I would give myself about two years before I can now think about being with another man."
The singer lost her husband Pastor John Apewajoye while she was three months pregnant, and she hopes she will be the first person to tell her daughter what happened before she reads online rumours.
"The only struggle, I'll be honest with you, is I fear the one day she will go out there and then someone will come to tell her, 'Your mum killed your dad,'" she said.
"So sometimes I think about those things and I want to be the first one to tell her what happened to dad."
Matete and her late husband Beloved John met in 2017 and settled together after their wedding in 2019. Four months into the marriage, Pastor Apewajoye succumbed to injuries from a fire accident.
