Gospel singer Ole Willy has made a comeback after a four-year sabbatical.
The singer says he is back to entertain his fans and spread the gospel with his new song dubbed Relax.
Speaking to Word Is, Willy said 'Relax' is for anyone who is having a tough time and experienced it during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I am now fully back to evangelism after a four-year hiatus. I am releasing more music and getting back to the pulpit to spread the word of God," he said.
"I am also collaborating across more genres to bring more flavour to the industry," he added.
Ole Willy said the industry can never die when asked about the ongoing discussion about the gospel industry being dead.
"I am yet to walk into a church any given Sunday and not find people singing because the industry is supposedly dead," he said.
"We can’t judge the whole industry according to the decisions of a few individuals who switched sides. The Gospel is Good news! And the Good news is that we have been forgiven and our debt paid," he said.
About artistes using clout to promote their music, he said nothing can kill the Gospel ministry.
"Everyone needs hope as much as they need to breathe. Nothing can kill the message of hope and praise."
The award-winning singer was recently on a Tanzanian tour where he paid a courtesy call on Diamond Platnumz’ WCB offices and met with bongo sensation, Baba Levo.
"There is a lot cooking so I would say be on the lookout. I learnt a lot from them and how they were also inspired by us. I am using that connection to do a whole lot more musically through that cultural exchange," he said.
