Award- winning Kenyan chef Kiran Jethwa is back with a bigger and better food show. This time, on Nat Geo. The 10-part travel adventure series, The Fearless Chef, premières tonight.

Kiran will take viewers on a high adrenaline adventure food programme that promises to pack a riveting punch as he traverses the globe showcasing fascinating ingredients and the extreme methods of harvesting.

“On my way to Chagan, we visited one of Beijing’s night markets,” Kiran said of his China trip, “where a whole host of interesting foods were available. My evening included cockroaches, scorpions, spiders and millipedes. All were delicious apart from the millipede, which was horrible.”

He added of his trip to Peru, “I ate large maggots! Extremely nutritious but far from a culinary delicacy! The natives took great pleasure in laughing at me as I tried to swallow these large white beasts!

The Fearless Chef is produced for Fox International Channels by Quite Bright Factual Films, one of the leading production houses in the Sub Saharan African region.

“That drive to parade the best the continent has to offer is part of what makes the show a success,” said Mark Leslie, ICE Fox International channels.

Kiran is the owner of Seven Seafood and Grill in Westlands, Nairobi.
