A new dance exhibition titled Trail by renowned Finnish choreographer Tero Saarinen, was recently launched at the Kenya National Theatre, an event attended by diplomats and cultural stakeholders.

Saarinen and his highly acclaimed artistic team had over the last one year created a gripping new contemporary dance production that celebrates the talent, explosive energy and beauty of Kenyan dancers.

The dance fuses different styles of dance and music and brings together an exquisite group of 12 male and female dancers from various regions of Kenya.

During the launch, the ambassador of Finland to Kenya Tarja Fernández said that this was one of the biggest cultural projects that the embassy had undertaken in Kenya.

Auditions for 96 dancers were held in Nairobi in April, where a talented group of dancers from award-winning dance crews and institutions among them Black Blingers, Kenya Performing Arts Group, Yawa from Kisumu, Sarakasi Dancers, Ghetto Exposed Dance and the Safari Cats were selected.
