SINGERS Papa Dennis and Janet Otieno were awarded the male and female artistes of the year accolades respectively at this year’s annual Mwafaka Awards gala held on Sunday at the KICC.
The star managed to beat a stellar lineup of nominees including Groove Male Artiste of the Year Bahati, Willy Paul, Chris Erroh, Guardian Angel, L-Jay Maasai and Piston.
Mercy Masika’s Mwema won the Song of the Year as Bahati’s Lover won the Video of the Year. Willy Paul & Size 8’s hit Tam Tam Remix won the Collabo of the Year, as Kelele Takatifu scooped the Group of the Year.
Among other winners were DJ Ruff, Betty Kyalo, Tyga, L-Jay Maasai and Muturi wa Muiru.
