KENYAN music production house, Candy n Candy Records, is gaining ground in Tanzania. The label this week signed another Bongo singer, Baby Madaha.
Madaha, who doubles up as an actress, signed a contract with Candy n Candy in Dar es Salaam. She will however be relocating to Kenya. The agreement worth Tsh50 million (Sh2.8 million) entitles her, among other things, to a personal car, a rental house and travel, video and music production expenses.
Madaha, who was the winner of the 2007 edition of Bongo Star Search competition, is popularly known for her hit single Amore. She also won a German award for her role in the movie Nani.
According to the stable's CEO Joe Kariuki, the songstress is a popular brand in Kenya and the label aims to take her music career to greater heights across the East African region.
Tanzania artistes who have signed with Candy n Candy Records include Mr Nice, Hussein Machozi and Top C.
