Offering a wide range of features from voice notes, group chat, voice calling, and even live location, it is among the most downloaded apps on Google’s play store.

Similar to Instagram stories, WhatsApp allows users to update statuses that can be viewed by their contacts for a span of 24 hours.

The company’s statuses are end-to-end encrypted, just like messages and calls.

If you however want more privacy by hiding your status from specific people, here is everything you need to know.

Step 1

Open your WhatsApp on your smart phone and scroll to the ‘Status’ tab.

Step 2

Tap on the three- dotted button on the top right corner of the screen.

Step 3

Click on ‘Status privacy’ then ‘My contacts except’ and choose the specific contacts you want to bar from watching your statuses.

Click done and
