Family and friends of Raphael Githinji gathered on January 22 at Citam Church along Valley Road in Nairobi for a final heartwarming send-off.

The mass was held ahead of his burial on Friday at Mweiga, Nyeri county.

During the service, Githinji was praised as being a gentleman, a patriotic Kenyan, an eternal optimist and most of all a family man.

Speaking during the ceremony, Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia said, "Mwai was a great believer of family and always encouraged me to be a strong man of the family."
