March 28 marked a very important date in the Hindu calendar; the birthday of Lord Ram. Alongside this, the BAPS establishment marked the birthday of Shri Swaminarayan Bhagwan. Faithful observed a waterless fast to mark the celebration of ‘Ram Navmi’ and ‘Shri Swaminarayan Jayanti’.
The event began with beautiful chants by the saints at the temple, followed by a talk on the life of Lord Ram. Next was a beautiful depiction through stage play of an important life segment of Lord Ram. Then Pujya Kothari Swami spoke on the life of Shri Swaminarayan Bhagwan, and the importance of being a faithful devotee.
The final phase of the event was the cradle ceremony after which everyone received sweets and blessings on this joyous occasion.
