Forty-five patients are being attended to at Kenyatta National Hospital after sustaining injuries from anti-Finance Bill protests.
The hospital has further confirmed that seven out of the patients received were female adding that the casualties were received starting noon.
"So far we have received 45, seven being female with different kinds of injuries," it said.
"Treatment and surgeries for the casualties is ongoing. We have had no mortalities from the demonstration so far," the hospital said in a statement through their X handle.
This comes even as anti-Finance Bill protesters in their hundreds on Tuesday afternoon entered inside Parliament.
The protesters entered inside Parliament hours after police shot a number of demonstrators outside Parliament Buildings.
The protesters also burned a number of vehicles belonging to the Police as tension escalated outside the country’s legislature.
Moments earlier, MPs had voted to approve the Finance Bill, 2024 that the argued imposes a wave of taxes.
This is the first time in the history of Kenya that protesters have broken barriers and accessed inside Parliament despite heavy security.
