Disquiet is brewing at a state department over the alleged replacement of a top-ranking official. Interviews have been conducted to replace the current holder of the office who is set to retire any time now. Officials have been touting a senior officer at the department to be given the job because of his experience and seniority. But one of the officers working in the department, who's eyeing the position, has allegedly been chest-thumping that he's going to fill the vacancy because one of the officials overseeing the replacement is a close relative.

The move by a former Central Kenya MP to lead delegation after delegation to the resident of a senior government official has shocked his colleagues. The ex-lawmaker, who now looks idle, opposed the leader he is now visiting frequently. He has allegedly been recruiting journalists from the region to help in easing pressure for the top-ranking politician who seems isolated in his party. Romour has it that communications unit of the top politician isn't pleased by actions of the former MP.

A vocal politician is said to be facing scrutiny from top bosses who accuse him of fuelling political temperatures in their coalition. Word is that the top bosses are purportedly contemplating clipping the powers of the politician to tame his wayward ways. We are told the politician, has since learnt of the imminent action and has been lying low hoping to be forgiven. He is also said to have sent emissaries to plead for mercy on his behalf.
