Do you have a daily routine and how often do you follow it?

A daily routine is important as it is composed of the regular activities you do daily.

These activities may vary depending on a person's occupation, personal interests and lifestyle.

Kenya Time Use Report 2021, compiled from a Kenya National Bureau of Statistics survey, shows that the active labor force uses another 16 hours of the day on non-productive activities, depriving many households of the opportunity to improve their financial health.

Therefore to improve both financial and personal life, one requires a work-life balance that can be incorporated in daily routine.

Bad habits such as skipping your meals or supper, and procrastinating can be hindrances to achieving a better life and depriving you of the benefits of daily routine.

Therefore you can use these steps to ensure all ticks of your to-do list are done at the end of the day.

Set goals: Determine what you want to achieve each day. Break down larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks. Always have a to-do list whether it's work tasks or errand tasks. Goals enable you to work harder and ensure accomplishment.,

Create a schedule: Allocate specific time slots for different activities, including work, exercise, meals, relaxation, and hobbies. Be realistic about how much time each task will take. Let it be well-balanced and not focused on one aspect such as school, you could give each one hour after work.

Stick to a routine: Try to wake up and go to bed at the same time each day to establish a consistent sleep schedule and ensure to incorporate eight hours of rest. Stick to your planned activities as much as possible, but allow for flexibility when unexpected events arise.

Limit distractions: Minimize distractions during work or study periods by turning off notifications, setting boundaries with others, and creating a dedicated workspace. Ensure that the time allocated is well spent and not interfered with by tagging along to unplanned endeavors.

Take breaks: Schedule regular breaks throughout the day to recharge and avoid burnout. Short breaks can help maintain focus and productivity. Most times we are guilty of overworking and skipping meals which are required to boost our nutrition and energy.

Practice self-care: Make time for activities that promote physical and mental well-being, such as exercise, meditation, hobbies, and spending time with loved ones. For ladies, incorporate that skincare routine which helps in relaxation and helps you keep tabs on your health progress.
