Delete your Twitter account with these steps

If you feel that you are done with Twitter, then simply leave your account as deactivated.

This is because, after the 30-day deactivation window, your Twitter account will be deleted for good. Once this happens, your user name can be taken up by other people and there is no way you can reclaim it.

However, if you want to download your Twitter data, you will need to request it before you deactivate your Twitter account.

Step 1

Open Twitter app or go to Twitter.com.

Step 2

Tap on your profile picture.

Step 3

Choose Settings and privacy and select Your account.

Step 4

Chose to deactivate your account. You have a reactivation period of 30 days.

Read the disclaimer and select Deactivate.

Enter your password and follow prompts to delete the account.
