How to make mouthwatering pilau with beef

Pilau is one of the most popular meals loved by many and often cooked on special occasions.

While several people have had a taste of this meal once or more, some lack knowledge of how to prepare it.

To make yummy pilau you need the following ingredients:

  • 1 kg rice
  • 1 kg beef
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Pilau spices including (cumin, cardamon, cinnamon, pilau masala and cloves)

 Preparation

Step 1

Cut meat into bite-sized pieces and boil for about 10-15 minutes

Chop onions, garlic and ginger

Step 2

In a pan, sauté chopped onions, garlic and ginger until fragrant.

Add meat and brown it to enhance flavour.

Incorporate pilau spices and toast them to release flavours.

Stir in washed rice and coat it with the spices and meat.

Pour in water for about 5 cups.

Step

Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cover. Simmer until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.

Once cooked, fluff the pilau with a fork, cover and let it rest for a few minutes.

Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot and enjoy.
