Thika Queens players celebrate after winning the 2020/21 Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League

Thika Queens are gunning for revenge in next month's Football Kenya Federation Women's Cup against Nakuru City Queens.

According to the latest fixtures, the quarter-final matches will be played on  May 21-22.

Coach Majani said they will be all out for revenge having lost points unfairly in their 1-1 draw against the same side in a league match last month in Nakuru.

He said the referee made some wrong calls in the match, forcing them to drop two vital points after a 1-1 draw at the Nakuru showground.

"It will be payback time. We want to win the match and proceed to the next round. Some decisions went against us in our last meeting with a dubious penalty and a soft red card hard to take," Majani said.

Majani said the team must focus on the cup competition since it is the only remaining chance to win a trophy this season.

A slow start in the second leg has left Thika trailing the leader Gaspo Women by seven points as the race for the WPL title hots up.

"We are taking the cup assignment seriously. It is the only avenue for us to win a trophy come the end of the season. It will be hard to win the league though we haven't given up," he noted.

Defending champions Ulinzi Starlets  have a date with Kisped Queens. Giant-killers Kisped dumped Vihiga Queens in the penalty shootout last weekend.

Kisumu All Starlets will settle scores with Royal Starlets while former Premier League side, Kibera Soccer, take on Kahawa Queens.
