Kenyan cuisine

Kenyan cuisine is known for its diverse flavours and ingredients, which reflect the country's cultural and historical influences.

Ranging from the country's staple starch, ugali alongside chapati and matoke to a variety of meat dishes, including grilled or roasted meat (nyama choma), stewed beef, and fried chicken.

Not forgetting expertly prepared greens such as sukuma wiki,  spinach, and managu.  This cuisine is surely going to leave you craving more.

Japanese cuisine 

It is known for its emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and its unique blend of flavours and textures.

It relies on starches such as noodles and rice which are paired with a variety of meat soups such as pork and seafood. Japanese cuisine features a barrage of seasonings that are used in meals.

They include Soy sauce, mirin (a sweet rice wine), and sake (a Japanese rice wine). Miso paste, made from fermented soybeans, is also used in soups and marinades. This cuisine features a taste profile known as umami.   

Caribbean cuisine

This fusion cuisine consists of starches such as rice, plantains, yams, and cassava alongside veggies and seafood.

Iconic dishes such as Jerk chicken,  entail the chicken marinated in a mixture of spices, including allspice, thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, and scotch bonnet peppers. Followed by the roasting process. This cuisine relies on spice and heat.

Exploring different cuisines allows us to broaden our culinary horizons, appreciate diverse flavours and ingredients, and ultimately, gain a deeper understanding world around us.
