How to make garlic pineapple sauce at home

Pineapple sauce is one of the sauces that you can incorporate into your grilled, deep-fried meat or fries.

This is one way to enjoy your pineapples aside from how we are used to eating them chopped up in a fruit salad or as juice.

Here's how to make the delicious pineapple sauce;

Ingredients

  • 1 Pineapple
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • Chilli flakes( optional)
  • Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Brown Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Choose a ripe pineapple. A pineapple that is not ripe will make the sauce bitter and that is not what would like to achieve.

Grate the garlic into small pieces.

Step 2

Chop out the outer skin including the leaves.

Step 3

Dice up the pineapple into sizeable cubes.

Step 5

Blend up the cubes until they become juice-like.

Step 6

Sieve the juice using a strainer.

Step 7

Pour the strained pineapple juice into a cooking pot/sufuria.

Step 8

Add all the spices including the garlic and stir.

Step 9

Leave it at medium heat to boil and simmer for around seven minutes.

Step 10

Use as a dipping sauce to your favourite meat dishes or fried potatoes and enjoy.
