Ingredients
- 2 Cups Basmati or Jasmin rice
- Raisins
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- Cashewnuts (optional)
- ¾ teaspoon crushed cumin seeds
- Water
- 1 onion, diced
Preparation
Step 1
In a sufuria, toast the cumin seed with cooking oil over medium heat for about a minute.
Step 2
Rinse your rise with warm water then add 2 ½ cups of water in the sufuria, together with the rice.
Step 3
Add your salt, cover and bring to boil.
Step 4
Reduce your heat after 7 minutes and cook until all water is absorbed.
Step 5
In a separate pan, sauté onions until golden brown and add the raisins and cashew nuts for 30 seconds then sprinkle over the rice.
Step 6
Fluff out the rice to combine, before serving with your favourite side dish.
Serve and enjoy with your favourite beverage!
