- 5 tablespoons butter
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup sour cream
- Lemon zest
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups all pall-purpose flour
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners or spray with non-stick cooking spray or grease of choice.
In a bowl whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt then set aside.
Add melted butter, sugar, sour cream, eggs, and lemon zest until everything is combined.
Stir in the flour mixture and then fold in the strawberries.
Spoon muffin batter into the prepared muffin pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let sit for a couple of minutes then transfer to a cooling rack to cool.
Add the desired cream of choice and top with fresh strawberries.
