
Kenyan singer, songwriter, and actress Sanaipei Tande is set to represent Kenya at the Intervision 2025.
In a statement on its official website, Intervision said the song contest is scheduled to take place on September 20, 2025, at the Live Arena in Novoivanovskoye, near Russia's capital Moscow.
With the Russian government directly coordinating participation with foreign governments, Kenya was announced as a participant on August 20, 2025.
Sanaipei was confirmed as Kenya's entrant for Intervision, as announced on the official Intervision website on August 29, 2025.
A random draw determined the running order of the competition, placing Sanaipei as the 6th contestant to perform.
The Kenyan artist is set to perform her song "Flavour", which was released on April 18, 2025, and the Intervision version of the song was released on August 29, 2025.
The Intervision Song contest was originally launched in the 1960s and was discontinued in 1980.
On February 3, 2025, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, ordered the return of the Intervision Song Contest by decree.
To develop international cultural and humanitarian cooperation, friendly countries were invited to compete in the contest.
A total of 23 countries will be participating in this year's contest, with Kenya, South Africa, Madagascar, Ethiopia, and Egypt representing African countries in the contest.
The results of the contest will be determined by an international jury from each of the competing countries.
According to Intervision, legendary disc jockey and television host, DJ Pinye, whose real name is Peter Chuani, will represent Kenya on the international professional jury of the Intervision 2025.
Each country provided a juror who is regarded as a professional in the music industry, ranging from musicians, producers, composers, and teachers.
The legendary DJ is also expected to perform at the sold-out event headlined by American smooth jazz saxophonist and composer Kenny G, at the KICC on September 27, 2025.
