Nigerian artiste Drela has announced plans to tour Kenya before the end of the year as part of his East African music exploration.

The fast-rising Afrofusion star says the visit will give him a chance to connect with fans, immerse himself in Kenyan culture, and collaborate with top local musicians.

Speaking to The Star, Drela reflected on his journey and the inspiration behind his latest release Dem Dead, a collaboration with Ghanaian superstar Stonebwoy.

Dem Dead came to life during my third trip to Ghana, where I finally met Stonebwoy, a music icon I’ve admired since I was fifteen. Being welcomed into his home and creating with the legendary producer Master Garzy felt surreal,” Drela said.

“The track carries excitement, gratitude, and the vibrant energy of Afrodancehall and Afrobeats. For me, it’s more than just a party anthem; it’s a celebration of fulfilled dreams and a tribute to those who inspired my journey.”

Drela revealed that music, which began as a passion, has now become his life’s purpose.

While he has faced challenges in breaking barriers, earning cross-border recognition, and maintaining consistency, he believes those struggles have shaped his artistry.

Though he did not reveal exact dates, Drela confirmed his Kenyan tour will take place before the year ends.

“Kenya, get ready. I am excited to perform for you and share my journey. Dem Dead is just the beginning; bigger things are on the way,” he said.

The singer credits his early love for instruments and vocals to the church, where his musical journey first began.
