
In a heartfelt message to her fans, the singer, businesswoman and cultural icon reflected on her journey from Barbados to international stardom, expressing gratitude to those who have supported her along the way.
“20 years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music,” Rihanna wrote on Instagram.
“So many of you were a part of my life and career since the very beginning, and some of you have joined the adventure along the way. I’m forever grateful.”
The post was accompanied by a video showing her “big” moments and breaks.
She went on to thank her “die-hard” fans, her family and the many professionals—executives, DJs, producers, choreographers, designers, photographers, and more—who helped shape her career.
“Thank you for the greatest first 20 years ever!” she added, noting her appreciation for both personal and professional support.
Rihanna also credited her success to her faith.
“I thank God, He’s been very generous to me and the Glory belongs to Him!” she wrote.
Since releasing her debut album Music of the Sun in 2005, Rihanna has become one of the world’s best-selling artists, delivering hits such as Umbrella, Diamonds and Work.
Beyond her music, she has built a global business empire with her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line and Savage X Fenty fashion brand. In 2021, she was declared a national hero by Barbados.
Her reflection comes as fans eagerly await her next album, her first since 2016’s Anti.
