Dancehall singer Buju Banton's son Miles Myrie is dead the reggae maestro has confirmed.

The reggae dancehall icon has penned a tribute to his 20-year-old son, mourning his loss.

He took to his social media to say "Sip papa God knows" on Thursday, April 4.

 A sibling confirmed the death to the blog Jamaica Observer.

Yes, it is true,” Jahazeil Myrie, another son of Banton, told Observer Online on Monday. “It is not my thing to say, it is not my job personally to give out any personal information about Miles, my father is the one who should share any details, but Miles is an hortical yute, his soul was clean, so I had to say something.”

Jahazeil shared a photo of the pair in his Instagram Stories as he seemingly mourned the loss of his sibling.

The post featured Popcaan’s mournful single, Only Jah Know, along with a broken heart emoji.

Gramps Morgan eulogised the young man in a message

"Mighty my heart is with you bredda prayers with you the mom and family stay strong mi bredda!!" captioned Gramps Morgan.
