Raphael who was also known as 'Rapho' died on December 28. He was aged 23.

According to Mutua, his late brother's story will save someone and for this, his death will not be in vain.

He also mentioned that his brother was ill and many friends stood with him as they tried to help him recover.

"Thank you so much Wakurugenzi for the love that you’re sending our way. A good number of you know the truth and you have stood with us since my brother became ill. I’ll tell Rapho’s story because I know it’ll save someone and his death won’t be in vain. See you after the burial," he said on X.

Mutua's statement followed backlash from social media users who questioned why he was seeking financial help to accord his brother a decent burial.

Some of the users claim that he is well off, judging from what he shares on his social media pages and should not seek support from Kenyans.
