Singer Willy Paul has claimed that the Kenyan music industry is dead without him and it stagnated after he stopped releasing music.

Apologising to his audience on Twitter for not releasing any new music, he termed it as a punishment to both his fans and haters saying he did it on purpose.

I'm sorry fam, I know I've disappointed most of you by not releasing any new music. I did that on purpose. To show all of you how the industry is down without my input. Some will differ with me but the majority will take my side.

Willy Paul alleged that some musicians have tried releasing music but unsuccessfully.

"Musicians have tried releasing content but wapi... Since I love my fans and my haters equally, I've decided to do away with the punishment.

He however promised to release new music soon.

"Giving you new music in a few days. I'm glad now everyone knows that without Pozze, the Kenyan industry is as good as dead. To all of you that kept sending me messages asking for new music, say no more," he said.
