"The drinks cost roughly Sh300,000. The two of us were dressed in African Regalia East Africa, with the mum's dress costing Sh 70,000 while mine was worth Sh60,000.
During the event, MCs and DJs who were hired also parted with some amount.
Omwoha who lives in Kisumu and works in Siaya could not hold her joy after her dream event came to pass after months of planning for the big day.
"I have been saving both my entire salary and per diem to ensure that this celebration becomes a success and I am happy that I made my mother happy," she said.
Omwoha is the third born in a family of seven.
Explaining her gesture, she said it was important that people celebrate their loved ones while they are still alive.
"When you have the chance to celebrate your loved one, do so when they are still alive, am happy that I made my mum happy."
Her mother Lydiah Omwoha expressed joy at her daughter's gesture and thanked God for her.
She said her daughter demonstrated humility, generosity and lauded her for exhibiting great love towards her and the entire family.
"This is a day to remember and it will remain marked in our lives. I thank you my daughter for this and pray for blessings and more blessings in your life."
Lydiah said it was such a great day to have such a celebration with her family and children’s friends.
The daughter said her friends who she invited from all 47 counties and others from abroad did not disappoint her as they all graced the event.
"They left me with an important lesson and message, that we should learn to celebrate people close to us, in any way we want that befits them."
She added that she had no regret in spending such a huge amount of money to celebrate her mum's day.
She thanked her family friends and relatives for gracing her event.
