A middle-aged woman was fatally stabbed in Karagita estate in Naivasha and police are seeking her boyfriend who has fled.

The estate is home to many flower workers.

The woman was found lying on the roadside by members of the public who rushed her to Naivasha subcounty hospital on Monday evening. She died while under going treatment.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru said the woman, who was not immediately identified, had multiple stab wounds to her chest and back. 

“We are seeking the boyfriend to record a statement in connection with this murder," the police boss said.

Meanwhile, police in Naivasha are investigating the robbery of an elderly man whose vehicle was stolen by a woman posing as a potential land buyer.

The 68-year-old man had travelled to Narok to discuss a property deal. He was left stranded when the woman in her mid-20s fled in his vehicle.

The victim, who also deals in land sales, lost Sh7,000 in cash and other personal effects. Police are looking for the woman

Trouble started after the woman who had previously met the man invited him for supper in Mai Mahiu town on Sunday evening so that they could finalise a deal.

A police source said the man met several  potential ‘clients’ and after the meal it was agreed the would spend the night in Naivasha town before concluding the deal the next day.

“The elderly man had poor sight and could not drive well, forcing the woman to take over as they drove towards Naivasha from Mai Mahiu,” a police source said.

The woman bypassed Naivasha and joined the highway where the elderly man said he needed to relieve himself.

While he was answering a call of nature, the woman drove off in his car, with his personal effects. He was stranded on the highway.

“The man was assisted by some boda boda operators and taken to Karai police post along the highway where he recorded a statement,” Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru said.

He confimed the man was robbed of Sh7,000 and personal items.
