ODM leader Raila Odinga will on Wednesday storm ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi's backyard to seek support for his presidential bid.

Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo on Sunday confirmed Raila's visit.

Raila will visit Vihiga to neutralise Deputy President William Ruto's gains in the region. The DP has visited the area several times to drum up support for his bottom-up economic model.

Ottichilo said Raila is expected to land at 9am for town hall meetings  before holding rallies across the county.

“Baba [Raila] will meet ODM delegates up until noon. From there we shall proceed to our political rallies, starting from Hamisi Stadium,” Ottichilo said.

“We shall then visit Shamakhokho, Cheptulu, Mudete, Chavakali and Mbale town, Majengo Mahanga, Esibuye and finally Luanda's Mumboha ground.”

The tour comes after Raila made changes to his campaign team to ensure he fully counters Ruto's onslaught not only in Western region but countrywide.

Vihiga ODM campaign coordinator and nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi said Raila will meet and interact with residents.

“We can’t afford to lose. We shall do our best to deliver votes in Raila's  State House race,” he said.
