Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has gagged his brigade on discussing presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s running mate issue or pushing for him to be appointed to the position.

“When we say we should bring this conversation about the running mate debate to an end it should come to an end,” the former vice president said in Kitui on Sunday.

Kalonzo told his party members, some of whom have been very vocal in the calls to have him named as Raila's running matter, that it was time to relax, sit back and allow God to play his part.

He was addressing a congregation of clergymen from across Ukambani at a Kitui hotel on Sunday.

Early in the day, Kalonzo attended service at Kitui Township African Inland Church where Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua led other leaders in urging for prayers to ensure Kalonzo becomes Raila’s number two.

Besides Kalonzo, others touted to be Raila's possible running mates include Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua.

Already the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party has picked a special panel to interrogate and pick the best of the candidates for Raila’s running mate.

Earlier on Sunday during the church service, Kalonzo had asked the Kamba community not to be shaken or worried about the current political events in Kenya.

He said in the end, God will perform a miracle in their favour. He likened political troublemakers to Egyptians who were overwhelmed during the time of Moses.

Kalonzo said time is due for God to separate the wolves from the sheep.

“There is something God is going to do for Kenya this year. People can see that leadership does not belong to those who have big money to do all sorts of things and abuse other people,” Kalonzo said.
