There have been a lot of rumours about the Covid-19 jab that have made some Kenyans hesitant about receiving it.
With the pandemic far from over, getting vaccinated against the virus is the only way that will make us go back to doing the things we enjoy most like travelling and spending time with our loved ones without having to put on masks and social distancing.
Getting vaccinated against Covid-19 is of much importance as it boosts immunity.
Since the pandemic has affected our way of life, the economy and also stretched the health care systems across the country, the availability of vaccines gives up hope that we will one day go back to our normal lives.
Researchers and scientists are trying to develop a permanent solution to Covid -19 to bring back normalcy in society.
We should understand that the vaccines are effective and they reduce the risks of one getting infected.
It is important to note that the vaccine can help children and adults from getting severely sick even if they happen to get the virus.
Therefore children aged 5 years and above must get vaccinated to protect them against serious short term and long term illnesses and also safeguard their families who are at increased risk of severe illness from Covid-19.
It is important to put into consideration that vaccines alone will not help us fight the pandemic.
We, therefore, need to observe all the other measures set by the Ministry of Health.
Our country will require healthy citizens in future, let’s all get vaccinated.
