Forest fires pose future environmental problems

Considering that most of our forests act as water catchment areas, rivers may dry up.

Wildfires are becoming a major threat to Kenya's economy.

The Aberdares fires that started on Sunday is yet to be contained, and it has destroyed more than 7o hectares. 

Wildfires have a number of effects ranging from economic, environmental to direct impact on local communities. A country may suffer great loses in tourism due to the distraction on the tourism sites and archeological features that are often protected by the soil which when left bare is likely to be eroded.

Considering that most of our forests act as water catchment areas, rivers may dry up. Let us save our forests to avoid future environmental problems. We need our forests in good condition for survival.
