The talks between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza seem to be back on course, with both sides meeting on Friday to try and iron out the sticking issues.

Mediation as compared to protests or violence always offers a better alternative to settle disputes.

Former US President John F. Kennedy said: "Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate."

Hardline positions and impossible demands will only lead to the collapse of the talks, which all Kenyans are banking on to bring peace to a fragile country.

The country has several challenges to address key among them the high cost of living, insecurity and a chocking debt burden. These challenges can only be handled in a peaceful environment.
