In Summary

•It is not the first time he is suspending or shuffling his officers

•A captain who has no control of the ship has no business being at the steering

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is at it yet again. Pass the buck and suspend key officials.

This is in reaction to the Precious Talent Academy tragedy in Dagoretti.

Our condolences go out to the families of those who lost their children in the tragedy and wish those still recuperating quick recovery.

However, it speaks volumes that anytime a tragedy visits Nairobi, or a problem occurs in his administration, Sonko who has mastered the art of playing to the gallery rushes to suspend his staff.

He talks tough,  promises investigations and actions but  never follows up. The next time you will hear from him is when another tragedy hits the news.

The governor is more reactive than proactive and rushes to  lock the stable long after the horse has bolted.

It is not the first time he is suspending or shuffling his officers.  Out of his Cabinet of 10, none has survived Sonko's game of musical chairs or suspensions.

If a captain can not steer the ship steadily but always shifts blame to his juniors, then he has no reason being at the steering.

Mr Governor, you can not always duck your responsibility and pass it on to others.

Nairobians elected you and, therefore, the buck stops right at your desk.
