The August 9 election is now past tense. How time flies.
Kenyans are busy trying to move on with their lives.
During the political campaigns, every candidate tried their best to reach out to as many voters as possible.
Moreso this year, all leaders organised events to publicise their manifestos.
Many politicians were quite busy in various parts of the country trying to convince Kenyans that if elected they will fulfil their manifestos.
The voters were convinced by the utterances, especially those who turned up to vote.
Kenyans are eager to check on every leader's calendar within the first 100 days if he or she will deliver to the nation the promises they made.
The elected leaders should focus on aspects which will take our country to the next level.
The key aspects that we citizens are looking for are the eradication of poverty, a corruption-free state, lowering the cost of living and just making the country a peaceful place to live in.
Education on the other hand is one thing that should be looked upon by leaders.
Focusing on Vision 2030, which is not that far away, the leaders should cooperate in achieving the vision.
It will be so embarrassing that within the first 100 days of their reign, they’ll not have delivered to citizens their promises.
Another aspect that should be focused on is agriculture. As a country, we should invest in agriculture to avoid food shortages and fight hunger.
Since the leaders are of different coalitions and parties, they should work together to achieve the set goals.
Politicians should get to know that Kenyans are tired of fake promises.
Action will be taken on the leaders who will not deliver their promises to the nation. This will happen by not voting them in after five years.
My plea to the leaders is to deliver the promises they made to citizens so that they can gain trust, in case they vie for another term, they will be voted in again.
