Kenyans are not counting months or weeks like before to August 9, the much-anticipated election day.
It is only hours and therefore it is high time for voters to make the right and wise choice when picking their preferred leaders.
The important thing is not voting but choosing the best leaders.
The candidates have been moving from one place to another asking citizens to vote for them as campaigns came to a close on Saturday.
The responsibility now is left to eligible Kenyans to vote for them but this should be done wisely.
Millions of voters are expected to troop to the polling stations to choose leaders who will be entrusted with the management of the country.
Voters should mark a ballot paper for a certain candidate not just because they are from your tribe but vote based on the track record and ideology.
The choice on the ballot should not just be defined by wishes, promises and the bravado of the top candidates and their running mates.
All voters who are expected to participate in Tuesday's election must be aware of the dangers of choosing the wrong person for a public office.
It is better to vote for the best candidate of the choices presented by examining their campaign agendas, records and leadership qualities.
We are all leaders at some point but the leaders we elect should be wise.
Decisions made by politicians determine the priorities of our nation and the effect on our lives.
Since we are major participants let us think twice before picking or ticking a ballot paper.
The choices we make will affect the country positively or negatively.
Your one vote matters don't waste it.
Success in the voting course and please keep the peace since a lot is at stake in the quest, but we believe no reward is bigger than the security of the nation's future.
