Mwangi in trouble over city demo

Mwangi is famous for his city centre donkey and MPigs protests. He was reportedly roughed up and later thrown into a cell at the Central police station.

CONTROVERSIAL human rights activist Boniface Mwangi was arrested last night following a clash between boda boda riders at the CBD and City County askaris. Mwangi is famous for his city centre donkey and MPigs protests.

He was reportedly roughed up and later thrown into a cell at the Central police station.

Mwangi is accused of organising a boda boda riders demonstration outside Town Hall that degenerated into violence. Police lobbed teargas to disperse protesters. Mwangi is also accused of obstruction that led to a traffic snarl-up at midday. At press time he was released on Sh50,000 bond. He wants to contest the Starehe Parliamentary seat in 2017.
