Iranian air defences have been activated in parts of Tehran, Iranian media is reporting.

Video footage shared by Iranian outlets shows bright flashes in the sky, reportedly in the capital.

As we've been reporting, the Israeli military says it is continuing to strike targets in Iran.

Shortly before Israel said it had carried out strikes on the Isfahan nuclear site, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned that Iranian forces will "act with strength" against Israel.

Writing on X, he warns they "will not escape unscathed from this crime."

"The Iranian nation can be assured that there will be no shortcomings in this regard."

"We're now seeing huge plumes of smoke rising over Tel Aviv in Israel, around skyscrapers in the city," a BBC reporter in Tel Aviv said.

"The smoke is dwarfing the tall buildings around it. It's not clear if this is from the missiles or the interceptions. We are working to bring you more."
