Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday marked the two-year anniversary of Ukraine's invasion with a heartfelt message to the nation.

In his statement he conveyed pride and admiration for the people, stating, "Dear great people of a great country, I am immensely proud of each of you. I admire each one of you. I believe in each one of you."

Acknowledging the shared desire for the war to end, Zelenskyy made it clear, saying, "Any normal person wants the war to end. But none of us will allow Ukraine to end. That is why when it comes to ending the war, we always add: on our terms."

Looking ahead, the President emphasized that the word "independent" will always be linked with "Ukraine."

"This is what we fight for. And we will prevail. On the greatest day of our lives, "Zelenskyy added.

Two years ago on this day, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated the invasion of Ukraine, setting off a relentless and ongoing conflict.

In commemoration of this anniversary, the United States took decisive action by imposing sanctions on more than 500 Russian-linked targets and implementing new export restrictions on almost 100 entities for supporting Russia, constituting the most extensive set of penalties since the conflict's onset.

Additionally, the European Union unveiled its 13th package of sanctions against Russia, prohibiting nearly 200 more entities and individuals accused of playing a role in the two-year war.

Since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, 7500 missiles as well as 800 drones have been fired by the Russians at Ukraine.

The capacity of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex increased threefold in 2023.       

To receive an edge in the military campaign against the Russian aggressor, Ukraine plans to produce one million FPV drones in 2024.

More than 200 Ukrainian companies are currently involved in drone production and related services.

In 2023, the Ukrainian Defence Forces achieved decisive success in the battle for the Black Sea.
