President William Ruto will on Monday join other world leaders at the African and G20 nations in Berlin, Germany.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will host the meeting which is part of the Compact with Africa (CwA) initiative established during Germany's 2017 presidency of the G20.

The CwA aims to generate additional private investment in the African nations to boost their economies. 

DPP directs cases involving cops be investigated by IPOA

Police will no longer investigate themselves in all forms of crimes involving them.

This follows a directive by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions that all cases/matters involving police officers be referred to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority, to undertake independent and comprehensive investigations pursuant to IPOA's statutory mandate.

Kenyans urged to submit views on proposed ID, passport charges

Kenyans have until December 8, 2023, to give their views on the proposed new charges touching on passports and IDs.

This is in line with a directive issued last week by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, that public participation on the proposed levies should be as soon as possible and not later than December 10.

In a notice on Monday, Immigration and Citizens Services Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said the submission would be done physically or digitally.

Court to give directions in graft case against former Treasury CS Rotich 

Also in courts, the Anti-Corruption court will give directions in the Sh63 billion graft case against former Treasury CS Henry Rotich and eight others.

The court will also set a date for the case ruling since the prosecution closed its case.

Suspects in Sh4 trillion fraud case to know bail fate today

At the Chief Magistrate Court, eight suspects in the Sh4 trillion fraud case will know whether they will be released on bail or not.

They are charged with conspiracy to defraud the money in USD by pretending that they were in a position to facilitate transportation of it from Kenya to Dubai

Israel says CCTV footage shows hostages at Gaza hospital

The Israeli military has released footage which it says shows hostages being taken into Gaza's largest hospital after the deadly Hamas attacks of 7 October.

A military spokesman said one of them - a soldier - was murdered there.

Cpl Noa Marciano, 19, was killed after being taken into al-Shifa hospital with minor injuries, he said.

Israel said a tunnel had been found at the site which it claims was a Hamas command centre. Hamas denies that.
