A woman in the United States, stabbed and buried alive by her husband, made a miraculous escape and called the emergency services using her Apple watch.

According to a report in The Daily Beast, the incident took place in Washington State on October 16.

The woman, 42-year-old Young Sook An, fled the forest where she was buried after several hours in the grave and showed up at a stranger’s door seeking help.

According to the police report, his husband who is an armed forces veteran kidnapped his wife from her home, bound her arms and legs with duct tape, stabbed her in the chest, and then buried her alive in the forest.

The cause of the brutal act committed was an ugly divorce battle in which he wanted to keep his pension away from his wife.

How it happened

According to an affidavit report, the 911 operator, the woman who dialled 911 using her watch, sounded gagged and could not talk.

The phone operator also confirmed a sound of banging and struggling in the background before it got totally quiet.

The police located the cellphone tower and visited Ms Young’s house but could not find her. They did, however, find ‘signs of disturbance’.

Ms Young told the police that while discussing the divorce and money, her husband got angry after which she told him to leave.

As she went into the bedroom to change, he attacked her, punching her in the head several times, and threw her to the ground.

He then duct-taped her and briefly left the room. That is when she called the emergency service 911.

After he returned, he dragged her down the stairs to the floor in front of their garage door.

After realising she had an Apple watch on, he struck it with a hammer and then struck her wrists.

She put her in a van and drove to a nearby forest where he stabbed her and buried her alive.

From the crime scene, they retrieved her hair strands, pieces of duct tape, and the broken frame of her Apple watch.

Her husband is in custody as the investigation continues.
