No road tolls - CS Macharia

Nairobi Transport CS James Macharia yesterday ordered the removal of billboards announcing the tolling policy, saying the state has not started charging motorists for using roads.

The billboards were erected along the Nairobi Southern By-pass.

They notified motorists of the Kenya National Highways Authority’s intention to introduce tolls to boost the pool of cash it collects from fuel levy.

Macharia said the billboards were premature and unauthorised, as the state is yet to come up with an elaborate toll policy.
