The family of the late legendary radio host Edward Kwach is appealing for help to clear a Sh4.2 million hospital bill incurred during the course of his treatment.
Kwach died on April 28 after a bout of meningitis. He had been in hospital for a month before he passed on.
Kwach was a formidable force in the media industry whose voice was one of the most recognisable on the Kenyan airwaves since the late 1990s.
The funeral committee is asking Kwach's fans over those years, friends, wellwishers and players in the corporate world where he was an MC to come through and give him a deserving sendoff.
"He made us laugh, made us think, made us feel like we weren’t alone. He filled our airwaves and hearts with wit, theatre, language, and unforgettable humour. He might have been the MC at your event or one you attended, been the voice of your brand or the reason you stayed tuned in," the appeal reads.
"You can do something about this. You can honour him, thank him, and send him off with the same love he gave us."
You can send your contributions to Paybill number 8061531, Account: Your Name.
"Let’s rally one more time and give Kwach the sendoff he truly deserves. Together,” the funeral committee said.
