In the bustling heart of the city, Quickmart Supermarket on Thursday celebrated its 18th anniversary.

The celebration however was not just about the supermarket's success.

It was also a tribute to an enduring partnership that has touched many lives.

Eighteen years ago, as QuickMart opened its doors for the first time in Nakuru, it sought more than just commercial success.

Recognising the importance of giving back to society,  the supermarket formed a special bond with Horec Children's Home, an institution dedicated to nurturing and supporting children in need.

Teacher Ann of Horec Children's Home said the supermarket has held them through their challenges providing for their needs.

"Quickmart has been with us through the amazing 18 years," she said.

In an interview with the Star, the children who have benefitted from QuickMart said their basic needs have been catered for.

"Quickmart has been helping us with clothes, food and everything we need. I am thankful," one of the children said.

The supermarket has been helping fund educational programs, extracurricular activities and essential supplies for Horec Children's Home.

Faith Kalekye said Quickmart has been part of her life at Horec Children's Home.

"Quickmart has supported me in my high school education, paying my school fees and giving me shopping vouchers. All I can say is God bless Quickmart," she said.

The anniversary celebration at Quickmart was filled with gratitude and shared joy.

Employees, customers and the children from Horec Children’s Home came together, celebrating not just a business milestone but the spirit of collaboration and compassion that has defined their journey.

The story of Quickmart and Horec Children's Home is a powerful reminder of the positive changes that can arise from a meaningful partnership.

As they look to the future, both are committed to continuing their shared mission of support, care, and community.
