Members of Parliament are today expected to debate the Finance Bill 2024.
The debate comes even after Kenyans held protests outside Parliament on Tuesday.
They want the MPs to vote against the Finance Bill 2024.
The voting on the Bill is expected to be on Thursday, June 20.
Nuru Okanga to be arraigned.
Activist Nuru Okanga will today know whether he will be charged with alleged offences of publishing false information and cyber harassment.
The activist who was arrested on June 11, 2024, in Kayole, was detained last week after police sought more days to complete their investigations.
Police said they were investigating Okanga for cyber harassment contrary to Section 27 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, among other offences.
According to the Investigating Officer, initial investigations revealed suspicious accounts allegedly managed by the suspect, which posted malicious and false information about the Republic of Kenya and its leadership, advocating for public disturbance.
Applicants to now get Certificate of Good Conduct in a day.
The government has upgraded the Police Clearance Certificate system enhancing the production of the documents popularly known as Certificate of Good Conduct.
The move will now enable the processing speed of the certificates from the initial 14 days to one day.
This will effectively contribute to the clearance of the backlog while also matching the corresponding number of applications to those processed in a day.
