The Kenya Youth Parliament Association (KYPA) has marked a milestone as it celebrated its 20th anniversary and unveiled its 4th Strategic Plan (2024-2029) at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.

The event was graced by President William  Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and National Assembly  Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, reflecting the devotion in which KYPA is held within Kenya.

Over the past twenty years, KYPA has been at the forefront of championing youth empowerment and advocacy, making substantial efforts in both legislative matters and community impact.

The launch of their latest strategic plan underscores their commitment to furthering this cause over the next five years.

Ruto emphasized the crucial role that youth play in national development.

Speaker Wetang’ula urged the young leaders to remain patriotic and transcend tribal divisions.

“Remain patriotic, shun tribal cocoons and take up your space in transforming this country," Wetang'ula said.

Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji while leading KYPA presented the comprehensive strategic plan and outlined the association's vision, mission, and objectives for the upcoming years.

Speaker Wetang’ula reaffirmed his unwavering support for KYPA, ensuring they have a conducive environment to effectively deliver their services.

"Our commitment to youth empowerment and national development shines bright," KYPA said in a statement.

"The launch of their 4th Strategic Plan signifies not just a milestone but a promise—a promise of a brighter future for Kenya, where the voices of the youth are heard and valued."
