Actor Makokha's wife to be buried today at Lang'ata cemetery

    Vioja Mahakamani actor Alphonse Makokha will today lay his late wife Purity Wambui to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.

    Wambui passed on June 1 after a long battle with cancer.

    In a eulogy shared by the family, it stated that family and friends were expected to arrive at Kenyatta National Hospital from 6:30 am whereby a mini service and viewing of the body will take place at the Kenyatta Hospital Mortuary.

    Guests were expected to arrive at at Lang'ata Cemetery from 9:30 to 10:00 am after which praise, worship and an opening Prayer would follow.

    Reading of the eulogy was scheduled at 10:30 am followed by tributes and speeches.

    After that, friends and families will then view the body before Wambui is laid to rest.

    In the eulogy, the family noted that Wambui began feeling unwell last year in September.

    "A visit to the doctor revealed she had stage 4 breast cancer. Despite her health challenges, she remained strong and hopeful, spending as much time as possible with her loved ones. She was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital on May 29 and sadly, she passed away on June 1," the eulogy read in part.

    She had been married to Makokha for 31 years and together, they were blessed with four beautiful children.

    The Vioja Mahakamani actor eulogized his wife saying, "Nitakumiss sana dem yangu,sijui ntakua napiga story na nani ni kunoma! Rest in peace, my love".

    Wambui's family spoke of how together with the community they deeply loved her.

    They said she touched many lives with her kindness and strength noting that her boldness, feistiness and ability to speak her mind without fear was truly inspiring.

    "She was a fierce defender of her loved ones, always ensuring their well-being and happiness. Her love, laughter, and resilience legacy will continue to inspire us. We will miss her dearly but will always carry her in our hearts," the family said.

    The family further expressed their gratitude to all who stood by them during the difficult time.

    "Your support, prayers, and kind words have comforted us greatly. Thank you for being there and helping us honour and remember Purity's life. Your presence and assistance have meant the world to us. Thank you all," the family said.
